Concept of the Logo: The logo is symbolic of various facets of the environment. The circular Form conveys its universal quality. The numerous vertical lines emphasize the multi-dimensional character of the problems of environmental planning and coordination.The four horizontal strata are indicative of the main resource groups: terrestrial, aquatic, biotic and solar. The graded vertical ascending strips suggest the yearning of man for a better life in a cleaner environment.

Environmental Status Report

Environmental Status Report (ESR) is comprehensive document which serves as information resource base for identification of critical areas and also as a source book for inputs in development planning. ESR attempts to identify regional current and emerging concerns and identifies demographic, social and economic driving forces behind the trends and problems. As required by the State Environmental policy, EPCO published first ESR in 1988. Since than EPCO has published five Status Reports, last ESR was published in the year 2006. The ESR provides perspective to environmental policy of the State. The document critically reviewed and analysed various sectored policies of the State and lead to Strategic Environmental Assessment. Beside this state level document, district specific State of Environment books are also on the anvil.


Environmental Appraisal Report (EAR)

Government of Madhya Pradesh has entrusted EPCO to examine the proposals for sitting of highly polluting industries in Madhya Pradesh. Since 1984, it has prepared more than 300 Environmental Appraisal Reports (EAR).


Detailed Project Reports (DPR )

Government of Madhya Pradesh was appointed Environmental Planning and Coordination Organisation, Bhopal as Nodal Agency for preparation of Bankable Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for abatement of pollution from various sources of pollution from various sources of pollution and of environmental improvement for the following rivers/cities in accordance with guidelines under the NRCP.
