Concept of the Logo: The logo is symbolic of various facets of the environment. The circular Form conveys its universal quality. The numerous vertical lines emphasize the multi-dimensional character of the problems of environmental planning and coordination. The four horizontal strata are indicative of the main resource groups: terrestrial, aquatic, biotic and solar. The graded vertical ascending strips suggest the yearning of man for a better life in a cleaner environment.

Interpretation Center

Lakes have always been an integral part of Human Civilization. Man’s association with water has been from ancient times and yet, the man has been instrumental in the disuse, misuse and abuse of water. Conservation efforts for water bodies, especially the urban water bodies, can be made sustainable only through the sensitivity and the awareness of the users. In order to make people aware and sensitive towards their attitude to the lakes, it is imperative to enrich their knowledge with the bare facts about lakes, wetlands and other water bodies. Accepting the fact that dissemination of knowledge is the best education and motivation, it is proposed that an Interpretation Center for Bhoj Wetland be established at Bhopal. with the objective of dissemination of information for increasing the awareness and sensitivity of the people towards lakes and wetlands in general and the Bhopal Lakes and the Bhoj Wetland in specific. Preparatory works for establishing this center are under way.
