The numerous vertical lines emphasize the multi-dimensional character of the problems of environmental planning and coordination. The four horizontal strata are indicative of the main resource groups: terrestrial, aquatic, biotic and solar. Retghat-Lalghati Link Road

TheLink road between Retghat in the old city and Lalghati in the northern side of upper lake, is to preventhuman intervention in the fringe area of the lake by creating a physical barrier between the human settlement and lake.

The secondary objective of the road construction is to off load the traffic through oldcity and divert it through this new road. The link road of 4.9 km and 437.2 meter long four lane bridge for crossing the lake has been constructed. Inthe stretch between Koh-e-fiza junction and Lalghati, a set back of 50-100 m has been provided in between road and lake for three story plantation which, acts as a buffer zone area to minimize impact of human intervention.
