Restoration of Takia Island
The Takia Island has a mazhar of the Shah Ali Shah Rahamatulla Alliah which has religious significance. The objective of the sub project is to restore the island’s shape and form by preventing further erosion and prevent the accumulation of silt around it leading to the proliferation of weeds and subsequent land formation and shifting of the land mass.Takia' is a small island in the upper lake, its banks have eroded and in the peripheral area, siltation has taken place.The island is of historical importance and can be taken to be as a monument requiring environmental protection, upgradation and restoration, particularly of its peripheral area. Two toe walls have been constructed around the mazhar for preventing
siltation.
