Concept of the Logo: The logo is symbolic of various facets of the environment. The circular Form conveys its universal quality. The numerous vertical lines emphasize the multi-dimensional character of the problems of environmental planning and coordination.The four horizontal strata are indicative of the main resource groups: terrestrial, aquatic, biotic and solar. The graded vertical ascending strips suggest the yearning of man for a better life in a cleaner environment.

International projects

District Poverty Initiatives Project (Sponsored by World Bank)

Environmental Planning & Coordination Organization (EPCO) was appointed as an Environmental Agency for Environmental Monitoring, Training and supervision o DPIP Sub-projects- Madhya Pradesh by DPIP-Madhya Pradesh sponsored by World Bank. The major objectives of the projects are:-

  • Contribute to goal of poverty alleviation by helping the project to better address the linkages between environmental degradation and poverty

  • Prevent environmental degradation as a result of either

    • The cumulative effect of many small DPIP investments that individually have negligible impact, or
    • The impact of individually harmful sub-projects

  • Monitoring the implementation of EMF, to verify correct application of environmental screening and mitigation procedures, adequacy of these mechanisms, and effectiveness 

  • The prescribed measures for controlling environmental impact.

Government of Madhya Pradesh was appointed Environmental Planning and Coordination Organisation, Bhopal as Nodal Agency for preparation of Bankable Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for abatement of pollution from various sources of pollution from various sources of pollution and of envionmental improvement for the following rivers/cities in accordance with guidelines under the NRCP.
